Montánchez is located in the heart of the triangle formed by Cáceres, Trujillo and Mérida, just over 40 km of each, right in the heart of Extremadura. It is a very popular village because its culinary culture, where   "jamon pata negra"  industry and the little-known wine "pitarra" play a prominent role.

Weather is cold in winter, with occasional showers. Temperatures in December ranges between 5 and 12.5 degrees Celsius. Snow is particularly unusual.
